Leura Loo

Blue Mountains City Council commissioned Welsh + Major to design a new public toilet facility for the busy Leura Garden village. Oddly, the “Leura loo” is the first stop for many coaches carrying international visitors to the Blue Mountains World Heritage Site.

Our approach was to create a robust public facility, softly edged and adorned in a glass mosaic mural inspired by the seasonal colours of the gardens that identify the area.
